Digital Push for Kerala’s Local Traders: Great Kerala Festival Bridges Tech and Trade

Kochi: The Great Kerala Festival, Kerala’s most popular merchant festival, has begun with the aim of empowering local businesses across the state and offering people a delightful shopping experience.
A key highlight of the festival is its introduction of a smart digital platform that enables participating vendors to connect directly with customers. The system operates primarily through QR codes placed across Kerala. By simply scanning these codes, customers can easily discover nearby vendors and explore their exclusive offers. Customers can also find vendors’ offers by visiting the official Great Kerala Festival website or through online promotions.
Once a customer gets an offer, they can instantly connect with the vendor via WhatsApp to claim it. This direct interaction encourages more footfall to local shops, helping businesses reach thousands of potential customers more effectively. This initiative helps businesses who are not digitally capable to compete with new marketing techniques.
Organized by Great Festival Moments L.L.P., in association with the Kerala Samsthana Vyapari Vyavasayi Samithi and other prominent merchant associations, the festival is designed to benefit over 15 lakh merchants across Kerala.
The technological platform for this innovative project is being provided by Bizgifts Infotech Private Limited, led by CEO Muhammad Shahjad and Managing Director Francis Kannokadan.
This digital initiative bridges the gap between traditional trade practices and modern technology, creating new opportunities for local merchants while enhancing customer convenience. During the press meet held at the Ernakulam Press Club, E.S. Biju, Secretary of KSVVS, expressed his full support for the initiative and emphasized its potential to transform Kerala’s retail ecosystem.
